Mendenhall Schroeder

My love of travel & adventure comes from my mother, who can hold a headstand longer than any yoga instructor I've ever seen, and from my boyfriend, who will never turn down a quick weekend trip if it involves SCUBA diving or bungee jumping. 

My love of jewelry comes from my grandmothers, whose vintage jewelry I've inherited over the years. Not one to let good gemstones go to waste, I started designing jewelry in college... oh, roughly 2003.

Since then I've continued designing and started my own little company – Ginger & Jade! I design a series of necklaces & bracelets around a destination I've visited recently. I usually base each series on a slice of a city's culture or landscape that catches my eye. I also like to work in beads that are native to each country when possible, with the occasional vintage element like a crystal clasp or reclaimed chain from a hideous eBay find.
